Established in 1994 by Mr. PNC Menon in Palakkad, Kerala, Sri Kurumba Educational and Charitable Trust was founded with a deep commitment to compassionate, holistic social development. The Trust focuses its efforts on the grama panchayats of Kizhakkenchery, Vadakkenchery, and Kannambra, aiming to uplift the most less privileged sections of society.
The Trust runs a wide range of initiatives in the fields of education, healthcare, social rehabilitation, elderly care, and environmental sustainability. These programmes are designed to support economically disadvantaged communities and are offered entirely free of cost. Fully self-funded, the Trust operates with complete financial independence, maintaining the highest standards of transparency, integrity, and accountability. A visionary leader and master craftsman, Mr. PNC Menon is the driving force behind the SOBHA legacy. With a deep belief in ambition and self-reliance, he transformed his passion for quality into a global brand known for excellence. His early works, including the majestic interiors of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and Al Bustan Palace in Oman, earned him international acclaim.
In 2003, he expanded SOBHA’s footprint into the international market with SOBHA Realty in the UAE. Over the years, his unwavering commitment to quality and integrity has earned him numerous honors, including the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman, the Golden Peacock Lifetime Achievement Award, and recognition from NDTV. Today, Mr. Menon continues to inspire through his leadership, values, and philanthropic vision.

Mr. PNC Menon had decided to will 50 percent of his wealth to charity over forty years ago. After the inception and subsequent success of SOBHA Limited, Mr. Menon wanted to make use of his wealth to help the less privileged people back in his hometown in Kerala. He started helping individuals in different facets of their lives. However, later he realised that to reach out to the deserving in a systematic manner, an organized effort was required. Thus, the Sri Kurumba Educational and Charitable Trust was formed in 1994, by Mr. PNC Menon and Mrs. Sobha Menon as its Founding Trustees.
Under the guidance of Mr. Menon, the Trust runs various philanthropic projects along with the CSR programs of SOBHA Limited, and has elevated corporate social responsibility (CSR) to a whole new level. Today, SOBHA Limited, India’s first self-reliant real estate company, is redefining the scope of CSR and is making sustainable, long-term, and meaningful contributions to social development in rural India.
In addition, along with his wife Mrs. Sobha Menon, Mr. Menon is also a signatory of the global philanthropic campaign ‘The Giving Pledge’ run by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Warren Buffet.

Ms. Bindu Menon serves as a Trustee for Sri Kurumba Educational & Charitable Trust. She oversees charitable initiatives for the Trust and SOBHA Group, focusing on aiding the less fortunate and nurturing talent in deprived sections of society. Her commitment to positive societal change is evident through diverse humanitarian efforts.
Ms. Jyotsna Hegde, a Director at SOBHA Group with over 20 years of experience, has been instrumental in the company’s growth across India, the UAE, and Oman. Starting in Bangalore in 2004, she held various senior management positions and played a crucial role in SOBНА Realty’s expansion in Dubai. Formerly the President of SOBHA Realty, Jyotsna oversaw strategic initiatives, excelling in change management, people management, sales, business development, and fundraising. In her current role as Director, she collaborates closely with Chairman Mr. PNC Menon, leading new strategic initiatives and spearheading philanthropic endeavours in the UAE and India. Notably, she played a key role in establishing a premier UK school in Dubai, marking SOBHA Group’s entry into the premium school education sector. Beyond her corporate duties, Ms. Jyotsna is a Board Member of the Sri Kurumba Trust in Kerala, overseeing charitable activities such as building homes for the underprivileged, developing the Sabarmati Riverfront, and establishing SOBHA University for Women in India.
