At The SOBHA Academy, STEM education blends hands-on learning with real-world problem-solving, empowering students with skills for the future.
At The SOBHA Academy, the STEM Department empowers students to become curious learners, critical thinkers, problem solvers and innovators through experiential learning. By integrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, we move beyond textbook-based instruction and provide opportunities for students to explore, experiment, design and create solutions to real-world challenges.
Dedicated STEM periods for Grades 3–5 and Vocational Education programmes for Grades 6–9 ensure that students develop essential future-ready skills through hands-on projects, design thinking and collaborative learning experiences. These programmes encourage creativity, innovation and the practical application of knowledge across disciplines.
Through its programmes, clubs, facilities and events, the STEM Department at The SOBHA Academy is committed to preparing students not only for academic success but also for the opportunities and challenges of an ever-evolving world.

To further enrich student learning, the department leads a range of specialised clubs that nurture exploration and skill development: Robotics&AI Arena for electronics and coding, Number Ninjas for mathematical discovery and problem-solving, Discovery Den for scientific inquiry and experimentation, TechnoVerse for digital literacy and technology skills, and Binary Brigade for coding, computational thinking and programming.

A key feature of the department is the Composite Skill Lab (CSL), an integrated learning space where students gain exposure to diverse sectors including Agriculture, Healthcare, Robotics, Construction, Human Services, Financial Literacy and Technical Skills. Through project-based learning and real-world applications, the CSL helps students develop practical competencies, explore career pathways and build employability skills.

The department conducts annual grade-wise STEM Challenges, encouraging students to apply their learning to solve practical problems through innovation, teamwork and design. After the challenge is announced, students get one month to prepare for it. On the day of the competition, they compete with each other for the best design based on functionality, craftsmanship and presentation.

STEMVerse is an annual summer capacity-building programme in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Applied STEM. Open to students from The SOBHA Academy as well as other schools, STEMVerse provides a platform for young learners to explore emerging technologies, develop technical skills and engage in hands-on innovation beyond the regular curriculum.

Our flagship event, STEMFest, held every January, celebrates innovation, creativity and experiential learning. Bringing together students, educators, institutions and industry experts, STEMFest features project exhibitions, inter-school competitions, workshops, technology demonstrations and interactive experiences that inspire the next generation of thinkers, makers and changemakers.

The Tinkering Programme is an after-school initiative conducted by the STEM Department from 3:40 PM to 4:30 PM for students who are passionate about innovation, creativity and hands-on learning. The programme provides a dedicated space for young makers to explore STEM concepts beyond the classroom through project building, experimentation and problem-solving activities.
