Early Years at The SOBHA Academy

Our approach blends purposeful play and child-led enquiry with direct teacher guidance, crafting a learning experience that is as dynamic as it is nurturing. The curriculum spans seven cornerstone areas: Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language, Physical Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Expressive Arts and Understanding the World. Enrichment comes through sessions in music, movement, sport, reading, and creative expression.
To further enrich the learning environment, the programme incorporates daily Guided Reading to build foundational literacy, alongside weekly Yoga, Zumba, and Aerobics—all conducted during assembly time—to foster physical wellbeing, balance, and energy. At the close of each day, dedicated Reflection Time offers students a valued space to interact with class teachers, share experiences, and develop self-awareness and emotional intelligence.

Preparatory Section at The SOBHA Academy (Classes 3–5)

A distinctive feature of this section is the celebration of handwritten communication. To nurture the habit of informal letter writing, a post box has been installed near the classrooms of Classes 6A and 6B, inviting students to compose letters in both English and Malayalam to anyone within the school community. In a world dominated by digital exchanges, this initiative revives the enduring charm of handwritten letters, acquainting students with their format, emotional resonance, and personal touch. Language teachers for Classes 6 to 8 actively incorporate this post box into their lessons, offering pupils a practical, engaging context in which to apply and refine their learning. Enhancing this experience, the display board in Class 6B has become the ‘Letter Wall’, showcasing inspiring letters by figures such as Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, and Virginia Woolf—allowing students to appreciate the transformative power of meaningful words.

The curriculum in Class 11 opens pathways in Science, Humanities, and Commerce.
