The SOBHA Academy’s Community Outreach Department fosters strong school-home partnerships through meaningful parent engagement and support initiatives.
At The SOBHA Academy, our Community Outreach Department plays a vital role in fostering strong partnerships between the school, families, and the broader community. We firmly believe that meaningful collaboration between home and school is essential to nurturing student growth, well-being, and success. To achieve this, our department undertakes a range of thoughtfully designed initiatives aimed at enhancing communication, providing holistic support, and empowering parents as active partners in education.
Recognising the critical influence of families in students’ academic and personal development, the Community Outreach Department implements various outreach activities focused on strengthening school-home connections. These initiatives ensure that parents remain well-informed, engaged, and equipped with the resources they need to support their children effectively.
Every month, we organise Parent-Teacher Meetings that serve as a platform for open dialogue and collaboration. These sessions are not limited to discussing student progress; they also include specialised workshops on positive parenting techniques. Through expert talks and interactive discussions, parents gain valuable insights into nurturing their child’s emotional and academic growth at home.
We prioritise personalised communication through individual meetings involving parents, students, and teachers. These sessions provide tailored updates on academic performance, behavioural development, and overall well-being. Constructive feedback is exchanged, goals are jointly set, and strategies are discussed to support each learner’s unique needs.
To ensure no student feels overlooked, our teachers conduct house visits on an as-needed basis. These visits help us better understand the student’s home environment and challenges, allowing us to offer timely support. Often conducted in coordination with the Mental Health and Wellbeing Department, these visits are crucial for early intervention and strengthening trust between families and the school.
Recognising mothers as key influencers in children’s lives, we facilitate mothers’ clusters—supportive groups that meet regularly to share experiences, exchange parenting advice, and empower one another. These clusters create a nurturing community where mothers find encouragement, mentorship, and practical tools to navigate the challenges of parenting.
