At The SOBHA Academy, student well-being lies at the heart of our educational vision. We understand that thriving academically is deeply connected to feeling supported, understood, and empowered on a personal level. Our Mental Health and Well-being Department leads these efforts with unwavering dedication and expertise.

Our department unites a skilled well-being instructor, a psychologist, and an educational psychologist. Together, they create a safe and nurturing environment where students receive guidance tailored to their individual needs—combining care for emotional balance, learning support, and holistic development.

The department offers confidential one-to-one support and guidance, helping students navigate challenges such as exam-related stress, emotional struggles, and everyday worries. Our mental well-being specialists foster resilience and confidence, ensuring every student feels secure and valued within our school community.

For students facing learning difficulties or potential learning disorders, early understanding and support are key. Our psychologists and educational psychologist conduct careful assessments, seeking to identify and understand challenges like dyslexia, ADHD, and other barriers to learning. The resulting insights inform individual support plans, ensuring that every learner receives the adjustments and encouragement required to flourish.

Collaboration is central to our philosophy. The department works closely with classroom teachers, sharing strategies and observations that enhance lessons and classroom experiences. Teachers are better equipped to recognise individual strengths and needs, adapting their approach to ensure every child can shine.
A cornerstone of our commitment to well-being and personal growth is our unique, comprehensive Mentoring Programme. Overseen by the Mental Health and Well-being Department, this initiative is designed to foster connection, character, and life skills in every student from Classes 3 to 12.
• Teacher Mentors: Each teacher at the Academy is entrusted with a group of 10–12 student mentees.
• Daily Mentoring Sessions: From 3:00 pm to 3:40 pm, Monday to Friday, mentoring groups come together for a dedicated session focused on well-being, growth, and mutual support.
• Life Skills and One-to-One Guidance: Sessions are structured to develop practical life skills—such as communication, problem-solving, and resilience—while providing each student the chance for individual conversation with their mentor.
• A Welcoming, Safe Space: The mentoring hour is more than just guidance; it’s a daily opportunity for students to share their experiences, feel seen and heard, and build lasting connections in a non-judgemental environment.
• Positive Role Modelling: Through these relationships, mentors help cultivate confidence, aspiration, and a sense of belonging, inspiring students to strive for their personal best.
At The SOBHA Academy, mental health and well-being are woven seamlessly into the fabric of school life. Our team’s work—ranging from specialist assessments to counselling—helps every student discover their strengths, build inner resources, and pursue their personal and academic goals with enthusiasm and resilience.
Through empathy, expertise, and innovation, our Mental Health and Well-being Department supports the journey of every student, making well-being and achievement two sides of the same coin.
