The SOBHA Academy’s Multipurpose Hall came alive with Spellapalooza 2025 — an elite interschool English quiz held on 5th July.
Hosted by the English Department, it drew 32 brilliant minds from 19 top schools across Palakkad and Thrissur.
Spellapalooza 2025: An Intellectual Festival of Words and Wit
The Multipurpose Hall of The SOBHA Academy resonated with excitement and intellect as it hosted Spellapalooza 2025, a prestigious interschool English quiz competition, on 5th July 2025. Organised by the English Department, this annual flagship event witnessed tremendous enthusiasm, with 32 gifted participants from 19 esteemed schools across the Palakkad and Thrissur districts competing in a grand celebration of language, logic, and learning.
The event commenced with an elegant inaugural ceremony, beginning with the lighting of the lamp to symbolise the light of knowledge. Ms Deepa S.C., Vice Principal of The SOBHA Academy, extended a warm welcome to the assembly with her inspiring address, setting an enthusiastic tone for the day ahead. She emphasised the critical role of platforms like Spellapalooza in fostering language proficiency, critical thinking, and self-confidence among students.
The competition was structured into Junior and Senior categories, ensuring a level playing field for students from varying age groups. It commenced with a written preliminary round designed to assess the participants’ foundational language skills and vocabulary strength. The highest scorers advanced to the semi-finals, which featured increasingly challenging and engaging rounds.
The grand finale, held post-lunch, was an electrifying session composed of multiple rounds that tested diverse aspects of language competence. Rounds such as “Deep Dive”, Visual Round, Audio Round, and the thrilling “Last Lap” kept both the audience and participants on the edge of their seats. Contestants impressed both the judge and audience with their quick thinking, eloquence, and accuracy.
The valedictory ceremony was presided over by Mr Parameswaran, Senior Manager, and Ms Rajitha, Principal of The SOBHA Academy, who addressed the gathering and congratulated all participants and winners for their outstanding performances. They commended the efforts of the organising team and reiterated the Academy’s commitment to promoting excellence in English language learning.

Winners in both categories received cash prizes (₹5000 for first place and ₹3000 for second place), along with mementoes and certificates of excellence. In appreciation of her invaluable presence and contribution, a memento was also presented to the judge, Ms Shweta M S.
The event concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem, bringing an inspiring and enriching day to a proud close. Spellapalooza 2025 was not just a quiz—it was a vibrant celebration of words, ideas, and the brilliance of youth.
